The Way of Flower draws inspiration from Asian floral philosophies—particularly Japanese Ikebana and Chinese flower art traditions. These practices reflect a deep contemplation of humanity’s relationship with nature and the impermanence of life. As spring unfolds, it carries both vitality and decay. In the artwork, digitally rendered weathered wood is juxtaposed with vibrant blossoms, evoking the simultaneous processes of renewal and decline present within nature, society, and the inner landscape of human experience. The piece reflects the cyclical rhythm of transformation—where growth emerges from dissolution, and beauty arises from change. Through this interplay of fragility and vitality, the work invites viewers to pause and contemplate the transient nature of existence. It encourages an acceptance of change and a recognition that impermanence itself is a generative force. Even amid uncertainty, life continues to evolve, unfold, and renew. Both Ikebana and Chinese flower art are ancient andphilosophically rich traditions of arranging natural materials. While Chinese flower art—often associated with Huadao — emphasizes symbolic meaning, seasonal auspiciousness, and the expressive fullness of blossoms, Japanese Ikebana evolved toward a refined minimalism that highlights spatial balance, asymmetry, and the
sculptural presence of branches and stems. Together, these traditions embody an aesthetic philosophy in which emptiness, space, and natural form are as significant as the flowers themselves—revealing a quiet dialogue between humanity, nature, and time
