An exploration of chromatic vibration, luminous fields, and cyclical energy

Seven Luminaries Resonance is a animated painting series exploring the resonance and circulation of energy through light, colour, and rhythm. The work is structured around seven fundamental cosmic elements—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, the Sun, and the Moon—examining their interrelationships through chromatic vibration, luminous energy fields, and dynamic movement.

Each film embodies the energetic state of a single element, while the series as a whole forms a continuous circular flow, suggesting an eternal cycle of transformation. The project originates from Five Elements contemplative meditation practices. Through seated meditation and inner observation, the artist attuned to the movement and transformation of elemental energies within the body and consciousness, translating these internal sensations into a visual language.

The visual foundation of the work is derived from mixed-media paintings combining ink and acrylic, developed through abstract compositions, organic meditative patterns, and a carefully calibrated colour system that functions as a form of energetic visualisation. These painted layers are subsequently translated into virtual space through customised visual programming and generative motion systems, transforming static painterly forms into dynamic energy images that articulate direction, rhythm, and spatial tension.

The seven sequences unfold as an energetic journey: the generative growth of Wood, the flourishing intensity of Fire, the transformative grounding of Earth, the luminous clarity of Metal, and the wisdom and abundance of Water. The Sun and Moon act as the core forces of yin–yang circulation, akin to the black and white nodes within the Taiji diagram, continuously driving the rhythm and internal transformation of the system.

The Sun marks the beginning—its rhythm percussive, awakening matter and awareness. The Moon forms the closing movement, guiding stillness through silvery light and returning all elements to inner equilibrium.

Together, the series establishes a circular energetic field that mirrors the rhythmic laws of nature and the cosmos, while simultaneously reflecting the internal cycles of the human body and mind. Each work possesses its own frequency and spatial tension, enabling resonance with specific architectural and experiential contexts. Presented within exhibition spaces, meditative environments, the work invites viewers into an organic, contemplative, and rhythmically attuned perceptual field.
